JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- For the second time this season, Jacksonville graduate student goalie Ryan Della Rocco was recognized as the top net-minder in the country, earning a spot on the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association national team of the week.

Della Rocco is the first JU player to earn multiple USILA Team of the Week nominations in a season. This is his third USILA Team of the Week selection of his career, earning one selection in his ASUN Defensive Player of the Year-winning 2024 season.

Della Rocco was dominant against the Mercer Bears, helping Jacksonville close out the regular season with a share of the ASUN Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the ASUN Men's Lacrosse Championship.

He made 14 saves and allowed just five goals, posting a scintillating 73.7% save rate against the Bears. In the win, he eclipsed the 500 career save mark, becoming just the second JU net-minder to reach that milestone. He also earned ASUN Defensive Player of the Week plaudits for his performance in the regular season finale.

Della Rocco is not only the top net-minder in the conference, but one of the very best shot-stoppers in the country. He leads the nation in goals against average, allowing just 7.63 goals per game.

His 58.4% save rate is sixth-best nationally, as well. Della Rocco is one of only two goalies in the country ranked in the top six for GAA and save percentage this season.

He anchors an elite Jacksonville defense that ranks second nationally in goals allowed at 7.77. The Dolphins are one of two teams in the country allowing under eight goals per game this season.

Della Rocco has allowed single-digit goals against eight times this season. He's allowed five or fewer goals on five separate occasions.

Della Rocco and the Dolphins will look to close the season strong at the ASUN Men's Lacrosse Championship this weekend. They face the No. 4 Mercer Bears in Friday's semi-final at 3 PM.
