JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins had 13 student-athletes named Scholar-Athlete Award Winners by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association: seniors
Delaney Ferguson,
Cat Geiger-Costa,
Anne Geurts,
Lura Johnson and
Kennedy Rowley, juniors
Chloe Cooke,
Nyah Lam and
Holly Rosser, and sophomores
Victoria Corbett,
Amy Downing,
Liz Sauter,
Sophia Scarboro and
Milena Willcox.
To be named a CRCA Scholar Athlete, each athlete needed to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA while competing in over half of all races or competing in the NCAA Championships. JU's honorees were among 1.174 winners from around the country.
"These 1,174 scholar-athletes have demonstrated excellence not only in competition, but also in the classroom," said Janet Raymer, CRCA Executive Director. "Their achievements reflect the dedication of the student-athletes themselves, as well as the coaches, teammates, faculty, and families who help support their success. The CRCA is proud to recognize their accomplishments."
The CRCA recognition comes after 22 Dolphins were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team this past spring. Jacksonville had 11 athletes named CRCA Scholar Athletes a season ago.
