JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's soccer head coach Ali Simmons announced the addition of Natxo Faus as an assistant coach Friday. Faus will oversee the Dolphins' goalkeepers.

"I am absolutely pumped that Natxo is joining our coaching staff," Simmons said. "He comes highly recommended by colleagues throughout the soccer community, and I am certain he will help improve our goalkeepers, our players and our staff through the positive impact he will make."

Faus joins Jacksonville after spending the 2025 season as the goalkeeper coach at Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia. Under his direction, Bryan Amezcua posted a .824 save percentage, the second-best mark in Conference Carolinas, while his 0.99 goals-against average ranked fourth in the league. Amezcua finished the season with 42 saves and four shutouts in 11 appearances.

Before beginning his coaching career, Faus played his final three collegiate seasons at Emmanuel. He started 14 matches during his graduate season in 2024, finishing with an 8-3-3 record, 57 saves, five shutouts and a 1.09 goals-against average.

Faus also produced a standout season for the Lions in 2023, recording a 6-3-3 mark with four shutouts. He allowed just 10 goals in more than 1,000 minutes, posting a 0.89 goals-against average and an .825 save percentage.

Prior to transferring to Emmanuel, Faus played at Texas A&M International University. He appeared in six matches during the spring 2021 season before making nine starts for the Dustdevils that fall.

A native of Cocentaina, Spain, Faus developed in the systems of Valencia CF and CD Alcoyano before continuing his career in the United States. He was part of a league championship side with Valencia and later earned Player of the Month recognition with CD Alcoyano.

Faus fills the position previously held by Michael Garrihy, who joined the Grand Canyon University coaching staff in May following two seasons with the Dolphins.
