JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Two Jacksonville Dolphins were among the Atlantic Sun's weekly award winners. Abbie Tuyo was one of two athletes to earn Player of the Week plaudits while Ana Nastase was named Freshman of the Week.

Tuyo had her best weekend in Jacksonville colors at the 305 Classic. She led the team with 43 kills (4.36 per set) while hitting .286 over 11 sets of action. She rewrote her personal record book, tallying a career-best 20 kills in a four-set win over Alabama A&M.

That same night, she came back with 18 more kills against Central Michigan. Tuyo ended her weekend with 10 kills against FIU. She has double-digit kills in five-straight matches and in eight of her 12 appearances this season.

For Nastase, she's the first Freshman of the Year for the Dolphins since 2024. She did a little bit of everything for Jacksonville on the weekend, recording team high for assists (55) and digs (25) while also adding 14 kills, nine service aces and three blocks.

Nastase recorded the first double-double of her career against Alabama A&M, tallying 24 assists to go along with 14 digs and five kills. In the late game Friday, she dominated the Chippewas.

Nastase tied a program record with seven aces in a four set match, also setting a career high with 26 assists and eight kills.

Tuyo and Nastase will travel to Florida for a midweek clash against the Florida Gators before opening up ASUN play with the River City Rumble at Swisher Gymnasium Saturday night at 6 PM.
