JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Returning home after a very successful weekend in Newark, N.J., Jacksonville University (18-16, 5-1 ASUN) will kick off a five-game home stand Tuesday with a non-conference game against Savannah State (10-23, 1-11 MEAC). The Dolphins and Tigers are meeting for the first time in program history.

The Dolphins stretched their win streak to six games over the weekend in a sweep of NJIT. The Dolphins won 13-11 in 10 innings on Friday, 5-3 Saturday, and 4-3 in 10 innings on Sunday.
Scouting the Opponent
Savannah State is 10-23 this season and winless on the road. Offensively the Tigers are very aggressive in base running with 59 steals this year in 76 attempts, but they struggle at the plate, striking out 288 times this season while hitting .260. Defensively the Tigers are excelling in double play situations, turning 44 this season, but they've also given up 75 errors this year. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 6.20.

ASUN play resumes Thursday with a three-game series against Lipscomb (17-14, 3-3 ASUN) at home, and Florida A&M will wrap the home stand April 19 with another midweek game. The Dolphins will end April at Kennesaw State (15-17, 4-2 ASUN) April 21-23, then take the rest of the month off for JU's finals week and graduation.
