PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's golf team faced perhaps the most loaded field of its spring season at the John Hayt Intercollegiate on Sunday and Monday and at the end of it all, battled frustrating conditions over the final 18 holes to close in a tie for 11th overall.

Aaeri Krishnan handled those tough, rainy and cold conditions best on Monday, persevering to fire a +4, 76 en route to a +13, 229 after posting a +1, 73 in the second round on Sunday afternoon. Krishnan's score was good enough to finish in a tie for 40th overall on the individual leaderboard.

The most consistent swing for the Dolphins this week was that of Michael Sakane who fired a +10, 226 to close in a tie for 29th. It's the second consecutive event that Sakane has led the Dolphin charge after claiming medalist honors the last time out. Eduardo Carrete joined Krishnan in a tie for 40th overall with a +13, 229 and Thomas Thurloway was close behind in a tie for 49th with a +14, 230 to his name.

The Shoal Creek Invitational in Shoal Creek, Alabama is up next for Jacksonville. That event will get started with 36 holes on Monday, Apr. 15 and concluding with 18 holes on Tuesday, Apr. 16. That will be the last regular season event for JU as the ASUN Championships in Braselton, Ga. loom Apr. 21-23.
