GREENSBORO, Ga. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins are officially over the midway point of their spring season, competing at this weekend's Linger Longer Invitational at Lake Reynolds Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
The tournament featured several top teams from around the country, including Alabama, Georgia and Vanderbilt. On this national stage, Jacksonville posted a 15th place finish in the 17-team tournament.
Jacksonville's five-man lineup featured senior
Daniel Montalvo, junior
Will Harris, sophomores
Brandon Lohr and
Andrew Sevene and freshman
Evan Raynor. The team combined to shoot a +23 for the tournament.
Lohr was the low man of the group, shooting a one-under 215 over three days. He shot in red figures back-to-back days, shooting one-under 71s Saturday and Sunday after an opening 73 on Friday.
He filled up the scorecard with 13 birdies over the tournament, good for more than four per round. Lohr was especially dynamic on the front nine where he shot three-under par for the event. By tournament's end, Lohr finished T27 overall in the field of 106 student-athletes.
Montalvo posted the next-best finish for the Dolphins. He started strong on Friday, posting an even-par 72 with four birdies. After a challenging three-over 75 Saturday, he turned in a professional one-over 73 to secure a Top 50 spot for the week.
Harris posted back-to-back 73s to start the weekend before a Sunday 80. He finished the tournament with five birdies.
Raynor made his third career appearance for Jacksonville. He shot 75-75-79 for a +12 229 on the weekend. He had highlight moments throughout the weekend, including four birdies in his final round.Â
Sevene started with an opening round 73 before shooting 84-78 on the weekend.Â
