BRASELTON, Ga. – Round two of the 2019 ASUN Men's Golf Championship came to a close on Monday afternoon and the Jacksonville University men's golf team (+23) stands in fourth with 18 holes left to play.
Thomas Thurloway (-2) rests in a tie for second overall, four strokes back of the leader.
Thurloway began his day with a double bogey but backed that up with a birdie and he was off and running. Another bogey on the sixth had him two-over-par on the front until he managed to eagle the ninth. He ran into some trouble on the back nine, but still found his way to three birdies to finish the day with an even-par 72. He'll be four back of North Florida's Jordan Batchelor when he tees it up at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday.
Eduardo Carrete rebounded on Monday with a +1, 73. He was consistently solid all day collecting 15 pars to go with a pair of bogeys and a birdie on the 16th. He's tied for 12th overall entering the final round of action.
Sam Uhland improved to shoot a +3, 75 and both
Michael Sakane and
Aaeri Krishnan dropped five strokes off their score to post tallies of 75 and 76, respectively.
Final round action gets started from the Chateau Elan Legends Course at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The Dolphins are one stroke back of third, 15 strokes back of second and 27 strokes behind the top spot.
