JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With a sweep in the relays and a new school record, the Jacksonville University women's track and field team dominated at the North Florida Invite, Friday afternoon at Hodges Stadium.

After nearly setting the program record last weekend at the Florida Relays, the Dolphins' 4x100-meter relay team brought home the win and a new school record as redshirt-junior
Jacquelyn Baldwin, junior
Shalah Smiling, sophomore
Savyon Toombs, and freshman
Nicole Smith crossed the line with a record-setting time of 44.30. The Dolphins' time eclipses the former record of 44.34, set in 2015 by Shanique Walker, Courtney Walker, Shadaye Campbell, and Ja'Mesha Richard.

Pashen Williams crossed the line in a winning time of 3:42.35.

Adding a win in the 1,500-meter run was freshman
Hayleigh Palotti, who raced to a new personal best with a time of 4:35.56.

Later on in the day, Toombs moved into third all-time in program history in the 400-meter dash with a third-place time and new personal best of 53.73. Her time was also just .20 seconds off the school record, set by Danielle Davenport in 2011.

Three additional Dolphins competing in the 400 came within less than a second of their personal bests: Williams took fourth in 54.39 (.57 seconds off her PR); Reynolds placed sixth in 55.58 (.28 seconds off her PR); and Davidson claimed seventh in 55.89 (.12 seconds off her PR).

In the sprints, Smith and Baldwin posted a photo finish in the 100-meter dash, as Smith claimed third with a new personal best time in 11.69 and Baldwin placed fourth in 11.70. The duo also clashed in the 200, as Baldwin edged her teammates for third (24.22) and Smith took eighth (24.63). Smiling also added top-10 finishes in both events, with a time of 11.86 in the 100 (7th) and 24.65 in the 200 (9th), while Davidson and Reynolds also competed in the 200.

All three Dolphin throwers had impressive days in the circle, as each claimed top-10 placings. Sophomore
Sade Meeks compiled a pair of third-place finishes in the hammer throw (51.26m/168 ft., 2 in.) and the shot put (14.25m/46 ft., 9 in.), before she took eighth in the discus (41.51m/136 ft., 2 in.).

Fellow sophomore
Grace Artis posted a respectable fourth in the hammer (50.38m/165 ft., 3 in.) and seventh in the discus (41.53m/136 ft., 3 in.), while classmate
Erika Earwood (45.93m/150 ft., 8 in.) finished ninth in the hammer throw and placed just outside the top-10 in the shot put (13th – 12.07m/39 ft., 7.25 in.).

Competing in four events on the day, junior
Emily Myslinski placed fifth in the javelin throw with a toss of 34.17m (112 ft., 1 in.) and leapt to a new personal best in the long jump with a distance of 5.43m (17 ft., 9.75 in.) – good for seventh overall and a 2.75 inch-PR. She also competed in the 200m dash and the 100m hurdles.

Brittany Bowald competed in both the long jump and triple jump, the latter in which she placed fifth overall.

Freshman
Rain Marti raced to a new personal best in the 1,500m run with a time of 5:18.50 – over nine seconds quicker than her previous PR. Senior
Nora McUmber placed just outside the top-10 in the event, as she recorded an 11th-place finish in 4:46.90.

A trio of Dolphins made their collegiate debut in their respective events: sophomore
Nicolette Worrell placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 18:24.47; freshman
Serena Gadson crossed the line in 1:00.03 in the 400m dash – good for 14th place; and freshman Lexis Grice-Flores competed in the 100-meter hurdles.

Also competing in the hurdles was sophomore
Lauren Polimeno, who recorded a 1:04.64 in the 400m hurdles for seventh place. Freshman
Elizabeth Crosby also competed in both hurdles events, while redshirt-junior
Mary Jeanne Assinzo raced in the 800.
