Box Score Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville University volleyball program was defeated in straight-sets by Liberty Friday evening, inside Swisher Gymnasium.
Set One
After falling behind 6-2, Jacksonville was able to trim the deficit to one, 7-6, courtesy of a 4-1 run. However, the Flames swung the momentum back in their favor with a 7-2 run, stretching their lead to six, 14-8. With Liberty leading by three, 17-14, the Flames rattled-off four consecutive points to expand their lead to seven, 21-14. Following four-straight JU scores, Liberty clinched the match scoring four of the final six points.
Set Two
The Dolphins jumped out to a 3-1 advantage to begin the match, however the Flames responded with six consecutive points to hold a four-point advantage, 7-3. The two programs traded points back-and-forth for the duration of the frame, as the Dolphins led by one late in the set, 23-22. However, the Flames swung the momentum in their favor to seal the second set with a 4-1 spurt, winning the frame 26-24.
Set Three
With the scored tied at nine approaching mid-way through the set, Liberty rattled off three consecutive points to take a 12-9 edge over the Dolphins. JU responded with a 3-0 run of their own, however the Flames answered scoring four-straight points to take a 16-12 lead. After trading points and the Flames holding a 21-16 advantage, Jacksonville capitalized on a four-point burst to trim the deficit to one, 21-20. Liberty answered with a 4-0 run to clinch the third set, 25-20, claiming the straight-set sweep over the Dolphins.

Camryn Honn handed out 20 assists, and
Rebecca Rocassin also registered double-digit helpers with 14.
The Dolphins return to the court to close out the 2021 season Saturday evening, as Jacksonville welcomes Kennesaw State to Swisher Gymnasium.
