ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference announced its final set of weekly awards for the spring 2021 season and Jacksonville sophomore middle blocker Sydney Bolding was selected as the league's Player of the Week. This is first time in Bolding's career she received this weekly award and is the 27th player all-time for the program to do, with the last accolade coming in 2017.
 
The Easley, South Carolina product had a huge week for the Dolphins in their three matches against Stetson and FGCU to close out the regular season. In Wednesday's win in a five-set thriller against the Hatters, she posted a career-high 21 kills and hit an eye-popping .563 while also adding eight blocks, including two solos.
 
Friday night against FGCU, Bolding followed up with 19 kills and five blocks while hitting .531 in another hard-fought five set match. In the regular season finale against the Eagles, she recorded seven kills and a block.
 
Jacksonville opens play in the 2021 ASUN Conference Volleyball Championship Saturday night against South Division Champion FGCU. First serve is set for 7 PM at Alico Arena in Fort Myers.
