Sackor and Snyman Conclude Season at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Jacksonville University track and field athletes Adja Sackor and Kristi Snyman ended their season journeys at the NCAA Championships on Saturday evening.
 
Sackor logged a 13.19m triple jump, good for 15th in the field and was named a Second Team All-American for her performance. Snyman cleared 1.73m in the high jump, good for 22nd overall.
 
Snyman, just a freshman competing on collegiate track and field's biggest stage for the first time in her career, battled to clear her height on the third try. The Cape Town, Western South Africa native claimed gold at the ASUN Outdoor Championships this season, while also setting the program-record in the high jump, and is a candidate to return to Eugene in her career.
 
Sackor started her day jumping 13.08m, before working her way to a 0.11m improvement in her third attempt. This came on the heels of her school-record triple jump performance in the NCAA East Preliminary meet, which qualified her for the NCAA Championships. She improved her triple-jump this season from her previous best of 12.60m back in 2019. In earning All-American honors, she is the first Dolphin to make the USTFCCCA All-American squad since the JU 4x100m relay team, consisting of Jacquelyn Baldwin, Savyon Toombs, Shalah Smiling and Nicole Smith also made the Second Team.
 
Both athletes were the first to qualify got the NCAA Championships in their respective events in program history. Sackor now continues on, as she prepares for the Olympic Qualifying Trials, taking place again in Eugene, Ore. They are scheduled to begin Friday, June 18.
