Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA- Jacksonville University volleyball fell in four sets to Liberty Friday evening.
SET ONE
Liberty started off set one well and stayed ahead of the Dolphins by five with a 5-0 scoring run. The Dolphins battled to stay within range, but the Flames went on a 5-0 scoring run, ending set one 25-16.
SET TWO
Jacksonville started with a 3-0 score run early in set two 6-3. Haley Hart and Jenna McNamara chipped in kills to extend the Dolphins lead by two 9-7. The Flames battle to take the lead. A service ace from Haley Hart put the Dolphins up by one 15-14. The Dolphins regained momentum and closed out set two 25-23.
SET THREE
The Dolphins with a three-point lead 10-7 to start set three. A service ace from Jenna McNamara sparked momentum for Jacksonville extending the lead by four. The flames found a rhythm and took the lead 15-18 forcing Jacksonville to take a timeout. Liberty capitalizing off the Dolphins mistakes, the flames held on to take set three 25-17.
SET FOUR
Both programs traded points all the way until mid-game. A kill from Lyric Love sparked the Dolphins tying the game 20-20. The Flames showing grit pulled through and clinched set four 27-25.
Haley Hart led the attack with 15 kills. Haley Hart reached her 1,000 kill tonight. Rebecca Rocassin collected 40 assists. Kariana Ayala- Drew ended the night with 15 digs.
The Dolphins are back in action tomorrow at Queens at 5pm.
