Box Score JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Jacksonville University program lost in four sets against Kennesaw State Friday evening.
SET ONE
It was a back-and-forth affair early in Swisher Gymnasium. Kennesaw State pulls away with the lead 10-7. Jacksonville gained momentum with a service ace from Kariana Ayala-Drew to tie the set 11-11. Kennesaw State regained the lead extending the lead 17-13. The Owls still with the momentum forcing Jacksonville to call a timeout 20-16. Kennesaw State finished off set one 25-21.
SET TWO
Jacksonville led early in set two with a 4-0 run taking the lead 9-4. The owls fought back to get within two points of the Dolphins. Kennesaw State held on to the energy to tie the set 13-13. The Owls being electric extended the lead by two. Jacksonville never gave up tying the set again 19-19. The Owls came back and won set two 25-22.
SET THREE
The Owls started off early with a 4-0 run. A block from Haley Hart ties the set 10-10. The Dolphins forced Kennesaw State to take a timeout after taking the lead 14-11. A block from Lyric Love and Madison Clark extends the lead by three 17-14. Madison Clark's kill puts the Dolphins on top 21-17. Capitalizing off the mistakes of the Dolphins, the owls come back to tie the set 23-23. Jacksonville took set three 25-23.
SET FOUR
Kennesaw led 4-1 early in set four. The owls extended the lead 7-4. A kill from Julia De Sa put the Dolphins in range by two. The Dolphins took the lead 14-13 for the first time this set, with a service ace from Julia De Sa. Lyric Love's kill put Jacksonville up by one 16-15. Kennesaw State goes on a 4-0 scoring run extending the lead 19-16. The Owls clinched the set four 25-22.
Haley Hart led the attack with 14 kills, and Jenna McNamara with 13 kills. Rebecca Rocassin collected 41 assists. And Kariana Ayala-Drew with 23 kills.
The Dolphins (8-13, 2-7) are back in action tomorrow at 5:00pm against Jacksonville State.
