Dolphins Sweep Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, KY- The Jacksonville University program had a dominant performance Friday evening in Knight Hall, sweeping Bellarmine in three sets.  
 

SET ONE 

The two programs traded points early in set one tying the score 7-7. A block from Madison Clark and Haley Hart put the Dolphins up by one. A 4-0 run from Jacksonville gave the Dolphins momentum extending the lead 15-11. Jenna McNamara's kill maintained the lead for Jacksonville 16-15. Jacksonville leading the conference in blocks, Julia De Sa and Lyric Love gets a huge block to put them on top 18-16. Hart slams one down in Knights Hall extending the lead by three 22-19. Hart and Rebecca Rocassin closed out set one 25-23 with a block.  

SET TWO 

Another back-and-forth affair in Knights Hall. Love on fire with the blocks put the Dolphins within one. Jacksonville took the lead after a kill from Lyric Love. Jenna McNamara's solo block extended the lead by two 15-13. The knights regained momentum tying the set 16-16. Jacksonville took the lead by three 20-17. Back-to back points for the Dolphins forced the Knights to call a timeout. Jacksonville finished set two 25-21.  

SET THREE 

Bellarmine started off set three early with a 5-2 lead. Rocassin with a setter's kill put the Dolphins within two. Jacksonville tied the set 6-6. Bellarmine regained the lead extending the lead by five 12-7. The Dolphins fought their way back with a 5-0 run to trim the lead by one 15-14. McNamara's kill tied the set 18-18. The Jacksonville block was phenomenal in tonight's match from Lyric Love and Rebecca Rocassin put the Dolphins up by one 20-19. A service ace from Cami Kelsay gave Jacksonville energy. Lyric Love clinched set the third set 25-22.  

Jenna McNamara led the Dolphins on attack with 11 kills, and Haley Hart added eight kills. Rebecca Rocassin led both teams with 30 assists. Lyric Love had six blocks and Karian Ayala-Drew collected 13 digs.  

The Dolphins are back in action tomorrow against Eastern Kentucky at 2:00pm in McBrayer Arena.
