Tallahassee, Fla. – Jacksonville University women's cross country competed Friday morning at the FSU XC Invitational.
Hayleigh Palotti crossed the line as the Dolphins top finisher, with a time of 17:30.5
According to Head Coach Jordan Garman "It was a very good day for the ladies. Palotti ran the best she has on that course. A very strong run from Sullivan as she looked unphased the entire way. Sgroi had a big PR, and is in a great spot in her first year of XC. Dix had a very strong run, and excited to see her continue. Derosa and Weiler also ran very well, and I am confident they will have breakout races in a few weeks. Lastly, Jailin had a good race after dealing with a little injury. We are in a good spot."
In total, three Dolphins finished among the top-100 in the field. Seven runners competed for Jacksonville.
The 5K event at Florida State got started at 8:20 a.m., and featured top programs from Florida, as well as programs from around the country.
Next up for the team is the USF XC Invite on October 14th.
