Jacksonville, Fla. - The Jacksonville Beach Volleyball program concluded day two of the UNF Invitational, hosted by "River City Rumble" foe North Florida, Sunday afternoon.
In the opening match of the day, the Dolphins fell to Mercer, 4-1.
Olivia Szyszkiewicz and
Jenna McNamara (3's), picked up the victory for JU in the match.
In the nightcap, Jacksonville was defeated by the host Ospreys, 4-1. The freshman duo of
Sydney Eckhardt and
Emily Kubicsko (2's) were victorious for the Dolphins in the matchup.
Head Coach Dylan Hough's Comments
"This was a great weekend of growth for this program. First win over a P5 team for this program since 2016 with the win over Nebraska. That's huge for us and for this entire program. Finishing the day giving the other school in town all they could handle was a good conclusion to the weekend and shows a lot of promise for this group coming up on our big road stretch. UNF is an experienced, well coached team and we competed well with them 1-5, which is a good sign that we're on the right track."
