Box Score JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Jacksonville University volleyball program was defeated in straight-sets by Austin Peay Friday evening.
The Dolphins (7-8, 1-2) were unable to get rolling against Austin Peay, falling in straight sets.
SET ONE
Austin Peay started off hot early set one with a 3-0 scoring run. Haley Hart with three consecutive kills tied the set 3-3. JU was unable to gain traction and swing the momentum in their favor. The Dolphins were able to cut the deficit by two 12-10, in the middle of the frame. However, Austin Peay was able to regain momentum to seal the opening set, 25-14.
SET TWO
Austin Peay carried their success from the opening set to begin the second set, as the Governors had a 15-10 lead over the Dolphins. The Governors continued their dominant performance to finish the set, taking set two over the Dolphins 25-17.
SET THREE
The Governors started with a 4-0 scoring run in the final set. Austin Peay held a 13-8 edge over JU midway through the set. The Governors were able to close out the match to take the third set, 25-14.
Haley Hart led Jacksonville with 10 kills and Julia De Sa with four kills. Rebecca Rocassin posted with 18 assists and Kariana Ayala-Drew collected 14 digs.
The Dolphins are back in action tomorrow against Lipscomb at 7pm in Allen Arena.
