JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Jacksonville Dolphins women's soccer goalkeeper
Murphy Sheaff was called up to compete on the New Zealand Women's National team for International Friendlies.
Sheaff earned the call-up to the National Squad after a freshman campaign that saw her record 55 saves in 13 appearances. The Sunshine Coast, Australia native was tabbed the ASUN goalkeeper of the week on October 11th after consecutive 11 save performances against Austin Peay and Lipscomb, respectively. On the season, she allowed just six goals on 141 shots faced. Her .902 save percentage was the best in the conference, and her .60 goals-against average was the second lowest in the league.
The freshman has been named in both active squads for friendlies against the United States on January 17th and 20th. New Zealand fell in both contests to the U.S, FIFA's No. 1 team in the world, and have friendlies against Portugal and Argentina in final preparation for the World Cup this upcoming summer.
The Dolphins came off a 2022 season that saw them return to postseason ASUN play. The team returns to action next fall, but have a full slate of scrimmages scheduled this spring to build off of an otherwise positive season.
