Weather Halts Second Round Play at Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Day one action at the Gators Invitational on Saturday was cut short due to weather and darkness, with Jacksonville University men's golf sitting T11.
 
The Dolphins have roughly six holes to complete before starting the final round after making a charge in the second round to move two spots up the leaderboard.
 
Joseph Sullivan is T15 after shooting 1-over in his first round and following that up with a 2-under second round through 12 holes. He sank four birdies in the first 18, along with 10 pars. After a bogey to start the next round, he made birdies in two of his next five holes, and ended his day with three pars and two birdies to close his evening. His eight total birdies were good for fourth-most in the field.
 
Alexandre Vandermoten moved up eight spots in the second round. He made three birdies and 10 pars his first time through the course, before sinking a pair of birdies in his first six holes and then wrapping his day with five straight pars.
 
Daniel Montalvo made 15 pars and a birdie in his first round and followed that up with two more birdies and 12 more pars on his second 18, with one hole to play to complete the round. Hos 26 pars led the field through the first day.
 
Jack Neill posted 12 pars and a birdie in the first round, following up with 10 pars and two additional birdies. James Dulin fired three birdies in the first round and added one more in the second.
 
JU was the best in the field on Par-5s, shooting a blazing 9-under, to tie with Florida for the best score on such holes. All five of JU's players finished under-par on the long ones. Montalvo led the team by shooting 1-under on Par-3s, tied for the fourth best score overall and Sullivan was a team-best even par on Par-4s.
 
Round two play resumes tomorrow at 9 a.m. with the final round commencing immediately after.
