JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- After a successful official first weekend last week, the Jacksonville women's rowing team returns to the water at the Sunshine State Invitational in Sarasota, Florida.
Last weekend, the Dolphins competed in two races in Orlanda and DeLand at the DeLand Double Duels. Jacksonville. JU raced hard in both competitions and swept the Regatta on Saturday in DeLand.Â
"We have made big improvements over the last few weeks," said head coach
Mike Lane. "Mixed up some lineups, and have really been pushing them hard. Right now is the opportunity for these athletes to show themselves that the hard work has paid off!"
"Sunshine State is a Regatta I help to run and we have attracted top tier talent from around the country," further added coach Lane on the Sunshine State Invite. "14 teams will be competing from around the country which is a blast! I can't wait to watch our women compete with up to seven other crews in one race! It will truly be a very exciting atmosphere"
The Regatta begins at 3:30 pm on Friday with JU competing in the opening race, the 2nd Varsity Four, against nine other schools. Friday's race schedule is below, with Saturday's currently to be determined by Friday's results. To follow along and visit the race website, click
