SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Jacksonville Dolphins Women's Rowing Team is looking to capture their seventh MAAC championship and defend their title as they head into the MAAC Championships this weekend in Saratoga Springs.
The team is coming off a strong performance at the George Mason Invitational, where they captured two first-place finishes in the First and Second Varsity Four's. The team will look to carry that momentum into the MAAC Championships and continue their winning ways.
This year's MAAC Championships will be held on Friday at Fish Creek. The Dolphins will face off against some tough competition, including Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Marist and Manhattan.
The MAAC Championships will be available to stream on ESPN+, allowing fans to watch the Dolphins compete for the title. The team is excited to showcase their talents and compete against some of the best teams in the conference.
"Mid-May is like rowing Christmas," said head coach Mike Lane. "We get to compete against our peers at the highest level! We have put in a ton of work, dating back to last August, and this Friday is our final test and opportunity to lay out the best possible race of our year. These women are ready to do this right now! "
The Dolphins have been working hard all season to prepare for this moment, and they are ready to give it their all on the water. With their recent success at the George Mason Invitational, the team is confident in their abilities and ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.
"I am so proud of this team," said Lane. "They have had a great attitude, worked very hard, and have done a great job being great teammates to each other. I am fired up to watch them compete this Friday!"
