CHERRY HILL, N.J – The Jacksonville Women's rowing team is set to compete at the NCAA Rowing Championships this week on the boarder of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

"It has been an honor to coach this group of women," said head coach Mike Lane. "They have completely bought into what we are doing, and I have 100% confidence that they are going to lay it all out on the racecourse."

After sweeping the MAAC Championships for the second consecutive season earlier this month, the Dolphins are the lone representative of the MAAC conference at the NCAA Championships. JU is one of 11 automatic qualifiers, while schools like Brown, Duke, Indiana, Ohio State, Pennsylvania, Rutgers, Southern California, Syracuse and Yale, are all at-large selections to compete at the prized Championships.

The Dolphins were seeded 22^nd in both the Varsity and Second Varsity Eight's while the team's Varsity Four was seeded 21^st, just ahead of George Washington.  

"Making it to the NCAA Championship is the highest accomplishment," said Lane. "However, this year is different, and I am excited to see what we can do! We set the goal at the beginning of the season to beat some teams at NCAAs, which would be history in the making for our program. Right now, is our time and I am fired up to watch it happen!"

The first day of racing starts on Friday, May 26^th  with the Dolphins First Varsity Eight set to race at 9:24 AM. All three Dolphin boats taking part in heat play with the Second Varsity Eight racing an hour later and the First Varsity Four rounding out the Dolphins boats at 11:12 AM. Saturday follows with the semi-final and those who advance will compete Sunday to wrap up the 2023 season.
