PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Jacksonville University men's golf shot the second-lowest team score of the day to climb three spots on the final day of the Golfweek Fall Challenge, finishing T6.

Alexandre Vandermoten and Jack Neill both shot final round 67s on Tuesday at True Blue Golf Club to lead the Dolphins, with Vandermoten coming home T10 overall.

"I was encouraged by what I saw during this first event, highlighted by Alex, Danny and Filip consistently shooting under-par each of the three rounds and Jack having a breakthrough on the final day," said Head Coach Mike Blackburn. "I feel strong commitment from the group and look forward to the tournament in Cincinnati next week."

Vandermoten began his day picking up where he left off on Monday, sinking five-straight pars. He closed his first nine with alternating birdies and pars over the final four holes, and kicked in to another gear after making the turn. Three pars and birdie started his final nine of the day, and he closed with three more pars and consecutive birdies on his 16th and 17th holes of the day. He closed the tournament with 40 consecutive bogey-free holes, and led the team with 37 pars for the week en route to registering his seventh-career top-10 finish.

Neill was the Dolphins biggest mover of the day, using his 5-under par round to jump 18 spots up the final leaderboard. He parred four and birdie one of his first five holes of the round, giving a stroke back with a bogey on the Par-5 15th. From there, he was blemish-free, bouncing back with a birdie immediately afterwards, and closing his first nine with his third red number. He went back-to-back with another birdie to open up the back, and closed with two more birdies and six pars, registering his second-lowest round score in his career, second only to the 66 he shot in the season-opening Streamsong Invitational last season. He was JU's best scorer on Par-4s for the week, firing -5 on such holes, only one stroke below the tournament leader.

Daniel Montalvo placed T15, the best finish of his career after firing a second-straight 2-under 70 on Tuesday. He was up-and-down early, starting the day with a bogey before erasing it on his third hole, then going +1 on the day again the following hole. From there he birdied two of the final five holes to get to -1 on the front nine. A bit more of back-and-forth play on his second nine holes saw him finish strong, with a birdie and two pars in his final three, as he closed the day with six red numbers total.

Filip Raza's week come to a close with a top-20, as he finished T18 after carding 70 in all three rounds. His front nine featured a pair of birdies and seven pars, and he backed that up with two more red numbers on the back and five more pars. His long-game came to play, as he shot 5-under on Par-5s to lead JU.

Jackson Klauk concluded his first collegiate tournament with the strongest stretch of golf he played on the week. After five pars on his first nine, he made the turn having just parred the Par-4 18th and followed that with eight more in a row, before ending the day with a flourish, birdieing the Par-5 9th.

The Dolphins finished the week tied for second on Par-3 scoring as a team, shooting a collective -5, led by the trio of Vandermoten, Neill and Montalvo who each shot -3. The team finished the event with 166 pars and 64 total birdies.

Next up, men's golf heads to Cincinnati for the Bearcat Invitational at Coldwater Country Club, starting with 36 holes on Monday, September 18.
