PONTE VEDRA, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men's golf team wrapped up their appearance at the Sea Best Invitational, hosting teams from around the country at the Dye's Valley course at TPC Sawgrass. JU finished in 14th, dropping down from their spot in eighth after the second round.
The Dolphins struggled on the opening nine holes of the day, starting amongst the first groups to play on the back nine.
Alexandre Vandermoten led Jacksonville in the tournament, finishing in a tie for 37th with an overall score of ten-over-par.
Jack Niell got off to a hot start in the third and final round, beginning the first seven holes at two-under before finding trouble on the 17th and 18th holes. Niell finished the round at two-over-par on the day, finishing second on the team in a tie for 48th.
#21 Florida took home the team title, while North Florida golfer Robbie Higgins won the individual title. The Dolphins continue their spring season on February 17th at the Gators Invitational at the Mark Bostic Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
