OCONEE, Ga. — The Jacksonville University men's golf team sits in ninth place after two rounds at the Linger Longer Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State.
Alexandre Vandermoten leads the team at six-under-par, shooting a pair of three-under 69's in both rounds. Vandermoten has played consistent in each round, carding just three bogeys combined, while logging nine birdies.
Josef Hacker is second for JU, sitting in a tie for 23rd after a three-under round in the first that put him as high at seventh on the leaderboard. Hacker shot a one-over-par second round to move to two-under in the round and claim a spot in the top-25.
Daniel Montalvo (t-57) and
Jack Neill (t-63) round out the scoring lineup for JU with Montalvo at five-over after two rounds and Neill at seven-over.
Tomas Hjalsted rounds out the Jacksonville golfers in a tie for 77th.
Alabama leads the tournament by a wide margin with Jack Griz (UA) leading the tournament at 15-under-par. The Dolphins will tee off on the tenth hole at 9:30 a.m., paired with Clemson and Louisiana Tech.
