WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Jacksonville University men's golf team finished in ninth place in its appearance at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate, with all five golfers finish around the middle of the pack after three rounds.
Leading the way for the Dolphins was
Daniel Montalvo and
Jackson Klauk, with both golfers earning a spot in 47th. Montalvo struggled to start the tournament but finished strong, carding a one-under 71 in the final round. Klauk was tied for the lead after the first round and hold strong in the top five for the second, but found difficulties on the final day.
Alexandre Vandermoten, coming off ASUN Player of the Week honors finished third, bouncing back from his first round to finish in a tie for 51st.
Josef Hacker finished one stroke behind Vandermoten, grabbing a spot in 58th place, rounding out the scoring lineup for Jacksonville.
Jack Neill finished fifth for JU, finishing in 64th after a four-over-par 76 in the third round.
Second-ranked Auburn took home the team title, with Erik Johansson taking individual title.
