DOTHAN, Ala. — The Jacksonville men's golf team stayed in eighth in the second round of the ASUN Championship while
Alexandre Vandermoten shot up 17 spots on the leaderboard to move into the top 10.
Vandermoten played clean golf, carding just two bogeys on the day and earning four birdies. Two of those birdies came on back-to-back on holes 11 and 12. Vandermoten sits ninth, five shots back of the lead, shooting two-under on the day.
The course was difficult on the day for the majority of the 60-man field, with Vandermoten one of just eight golfers to shoot under-par.
Finishing second for Jacksonville was
Josef Hacker, finishing at three-over, settling in a tie for 15th after three birdies.
Daniel Montalvo finished next for the Dolphins, shooting four-over-par after going Hacker with an even-par day in the first round.
Jack Neill rounded out the scoring lineup for JU shooting three-over-par to finish the round in a tie for 43rd.
Jacksonville will tee off at 9:50 a.m. with Kennesaw State and Queens at RTJ Highland Oaks.
