8/13/2024 1:53:00 PM

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer team has finalized its staff and its roster. The 2024 Dolphin signing class features a mix of freshmen talent, college transfers and international stars. Coach Ryan Moon's first recruiting class has players from seven different countries and multiple players from England.

"Having a combination of domestic and international is the best balance you can have," Moon said. "Everyone brings something different. There is a different flavor from each country and from different points of view. The internationals learn from the Americans and the Americans learn from different cultures and it all helps them grow."

Pia Bozic, Goalkeeper

Kamnik, Slovenia

Bozic comes to JU after a highly decorated career playing for the College of Saint Rose. Among her accomplishments in 2023 were being named to the NE10 Second Team All-Conference, the D2CCA All-East Region Second Team and United Soccer Coaches Association Second-Team Academic All-American. In 2022, she was the Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.

Andrea Zwinkels, Midfield

Sundbyberg, Sweden

A transfer from Limestone University, Zwinkels too comes with plenty of awards to her name. She was named to both the D2CCA All Southeast Region and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region in 2022.

Bayleigh Humbert, Midfield

Apex, North Carolina

After four seasons at Campbell, Humbert brings veteran leadership to the midfield. With the Camels, the graduate student played in 54 games and logged over 2,000 total minutes on the pitch.

Manuela Restrepo, Midfield

Medellin, Colombia

Yet another transfer with national team and college experience, Restrepo comes to JU after being named the CACC Player of the Year with Wilmington University. She also played for the U20 Colombian National Team.

Kinifoh Coulibaly, Defense

Quebec, Canada

A highly touted player out of Canada's own FC Laval, Coulibaly looks to sure up the Dolphin defense during her freshman season.

Laura Di Mascio, Midfield

Paris, France

Another transfer with high level experience, Di Mascio brings her 11 goals and 10 assists from last season with Eastern Florida State College to Jacksonville. She also helped lead the Titans to a runner-up finish in the NJCAA.

Sam Sharrocks, Defense

Nottinghamshire, England

Sharrocks brings a host of international skills to Jacksonville, having played for Sheffield United Women's First Team and the Sheffield United Development Team where she won the FAWNL Midlands Reserves League. A transfer from Rider University, Sharrocks also logged 24 games for the Broncs over two seasons and reached the MAAC quarterfinals in 2022 and semifinals in 2023.

Reeanna Cook, Midfield

Norfolk, England

The seventh transfer of the 2024 class, Cook had a successful start to her soccer career with Concord University. She was named to the All-MEC Freshman Team in 2022 and the All-MEC First-Team in 2023 amongst a litany of other honors.

Georgina Spraggon, Forward

Newcastle, England

A captain of the Newcastle United Development Team, Spraggon looks to add to her scoring ways with the Dolphins. With Newcastle, she was the team's top goal scorer.

Lina Ballmann, Defense

Eichelsbacher, Germany

A freshman from Germany, Ballman is looking to keep goals off the board for her squad. She is one of the team's four incoming freshmen.

Kathryn Shaggy, Goalkeeper

Coral Springs, Florida

An accomplished youth player, Shaggy helped lead SABR Team Boca to the Florida State Cup final in 2023. She is one two incoming keepers, and one of three on roster.

"We have some dynamic players, but also technical," Moon said. "We wanted to recruit players that know and understand the game, have some high soccer IQ. We managed the roster throughout the spring. We got girls to play in the spring a lot. And then we were able to recruit and bring in some players that will help us this fall. We feel like we have some really good characters and people joining the roster this year."

The Dolphins play their first game of the season at Boston College on Aug. 15. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
