JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville goalkeeper
Christian Sekanina has once again
been named the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week, marking his second such honor of the 2025 season and the fifth of his collegiate career.
Sekanina was instrumental in back-to-back clean sheet victories last week. He helped lead the Dolphins to a 2-0 win vs Georgia State on Tuesday, then anchored a dominant defensive performance in a 2-0 victory over ASUN rival Stetson on Senior Night.
He recorded five saves in the win over Georgia State and followed that with four more against the Hatters, helping Jacksonville secure three critical points in conference play.
Sekanina ranks among the ASUN's top goalkeepers this season, standing second in goals against average, third in save percentage, and third in total shutouts.
In conference play, he is tied for first in shutouts per game, second in goals against average, third in saves per game, and third in total saves.
This week's honor adds to an already impressive resume for Sekanina. Off the field, he was named the 2024 ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is a two-time selection to represent Jacksonville at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.
With Sekanina leading from the back, the Dolphins look to continue their push through ASUN play and extend their two game win streak.
The Dolphins travel to face the Mercer Bears at 5 p.m on Tuesday, Oct. 21st.
