JU Finishes Eighth at Sea Best Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —The Jacksonville University men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Sea Best Invitational, wrapping up 54 holes at Atlantic Beach GC in its final home tournament of the season.

Brandon Lohr finished first among all Jacksonville players, using a two-under final round to move into a tie for 15th place.

Daniel Montalvo led the scoring lineup for JU, finishing in a tie for 38th after finishing five-over in the tournament. Montalvo shot a pair of 72's in the first and third round, shooting a 74 in the second round.

Jack Neill finished second for JU's lineup in a tie for 42nd, Neill's second round 66 propelled him all the way into the top 10 following the first day, but struggled in the third round despite carding one of the best rounds of any player in the second round.

Tomas Hjaltested was next for the Dolphins, finishing two strokes behind Neill, shooting a one-under 70 in the final round. Hjaltested improved in each round, shooting 76 and 75 in the first two rounds.

Andrew Morgan rounded out the scoring lineup for JU with a T-50 finish, highlighting his tournament in the first round with a one-under 70.

Texas A&M took home the team crown along with the individual medalist Phichaksn Maichon.

Jacksonville will stay in the sunshine state for their next tournament, playing in the Gator Invitational on February 15 in Gainesville, Fla.
