Dolphins Secure First Win of 2025 at DUUUVAL Duals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University beach volleyball team put together a strong showing at the DUUUVAL Duals over the weekend, picking up its first win of the season against Saint Leo while pushing Chattanooga and Mercer to the brink in close 3-2 losses. The Dolphins showcased resilience and standout performances across multiple pairs. 

Kubicsko & Mrukowski Lead at No. 1
Emily Kubicsko and Claire Mrukowski continued to establish themselves as a force at the top pair securing two straight-set victories. The duo opened the weekend with a 21-19, 21-18 win over Chattanooga's Neva Clark and Corina Vale before adding another strong performance in Jacksonville's victory over Saint Leo, winning 22-20, 21-17.

Nika & Perry Deliver at No. 2
Kristina Nika and Morgan Perry contributed a key victory in Jacksonville's win over Saint Leo, taking down Brenna Reinhard and Tajma Muharemovic in dominant fashion, 21-12, 21-17.

Garnett & Martinez Earn Three-Set Thriller at No. 3
Hayden Garnett and Katie Martinez added a hard-fought win against Mercer, rallying from a set down to defeat Sydney Benson and Liv Diaz, 16-21, 21-18, 15-13

Reames & Taylor Secure Win at No. 4
Miller Reames and Kate Taylor helped lift JU past Saint Leo with a straight-set victory over Emma Laade and Paula Perez Rosales, 21-15, 21-18..

Cunningham & Erhard Shine at No. 5
The pairing of Amanda Cunningham and Kelly Erhard remained a consistent presence for the Dolphins, picking up three victories throughout the weekend. They earned a three-set win over Chattanooga's Taylor Clark and Ansley Gulledge (19-21, 21-15, 15-11), dominated Saint Leo's Madison Moore and Reagan Hopp (21-16, 21-15), and closed the weekend with a straight-set victory against Mercer's Grace Rathburn and Reese Hood (21-14, 21-18).

Jacksonville's efforts throughout the weekend showed promise, with several close matches and strong individual performances.
