Dolphins Sweep No. 6 EKU, Advance to First ASUN Semifinal Since 2018

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jacksonville Beach Volleyball bounced back in dominant fashion Tuesday afternoon, sweeping No. 6 Eastern Kentucky, 3-0, to advance to the ASUN Championship semifinals at John Hunt Park.

The Dolphins did not drop a single set in the dual, securing their program-record 17th win of the season and marking their first trip to the ASUN semifinals since 2018; and the first under head coach Dylan Hough.

Jacksonville set the tone early and never let up, with all three clinching courts handling business in straight sets.

At the top flight, Claire Mrukowski and Megan Hair delivered a composed performance against an All-ASUN pairing, earning a straight-set victory to put the Dolphins on the board.

The momentum continued at the No. 3 position, where Avery Kliethermes and Breanna McDonough controlled both sets to bring Jacksonville within one point of clinching.

Morgan Perry and Kate Taylor sealed the match at the No. 4 flight, turning in one of the most decisive wins of the day to punch Jacksonville's ticket to the semifinals.

"Just really proud of the entire group," said head coach Dylan Hough. "They did a really good job in all areas today. We've put a big emphasis on our ability to handle big moments this year and they were able to come through in a big way today. It was a complete team effort. We've got the best sideline in the ASUN and the energy and enthusiasm of our girls are a huge boost and will be a big bonus for us heading into tomorrow."

With the win, Jacksonville advances to face No. 2 North Florida in the ASUN semifinals. First serve is set for 12 p.m. ET, with live stats and ESPN coverage available.
