HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jacksonville Beach Volleyball battled top-seeded Stetson in the ASUN Championship winner's bracket Tuesday morning, falling 5-0 in a dual that featured multiple tightly contested courts at John Hunt Park.
Despite the final score, the Dolphins pushed the tournament's No. 1 seed throughout the lineup, highlighted by a pair of highly competitive flights.
At the top position, Claire Mrukowski and Megan Hair went toe-to-toe with one of the conference's top duos, dropping a narrow two-set decision that included a second set that led for most of the way.
Jacksonville's best chance came at the No. 4 flight, where Morgan Perry and Kate Taylor opened strong with a first-set win and forced a deciding third set before Stetson narrowly pulled away.
The Dolphins also saw competitive moments at the No. 5 position, where Maddie Fiedler and Katie Martinez stayed within striking distance in both sets.
With the result, Jacksonville moves into the elimination bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will face the winner of Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. ET.
