GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville women's rowing team competed against Villanova on Saturday (March 8) in Gainesville. The event was an exhibition pitting a pair of teams from different parts of the east coast.
The Dolphins finished the event with consistent success, with the 1V boat splitting with the Wildcats. The 2V, Varsity Fours and 3V boats all worked well to stay ahead of Villanova in a series of varying distances.
Head Coach Mike Lane
"Overall, it was really a fantastic day of learning. Our 1V raced very hard and split pieces with Villanova. All other boats did a great job staying ahead of Nova for a variety of different distances. You could see the intensity in our athletes eyes, which was very exciting!
Really proud of our team in this early spring test! We are young, but our leadership did a great job prepping our women to hit the water with aggression and consistency. Really excited to build on this performance for our two days of racing next Friday and Saturday as we head into our spring break training camp."
