MLAX | Lovelace and DiGennaro Added as Captains for 2025 Season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Seniors Jack Lovelace and Charlie DiGennaro have been added by Head Coach John Galloway to the 2025 leadership group of captains for the Jacksonville men's lacrosse team.

The pair join Jack Taylor and Tucker Denault as Team Captains for the remainder of the season as Jacksonville looks to gain a more veteran voice heading into ASUN Conference play.

Head Coach John Galloway:
"I believe that this year's team is at a current fork in the road for how the remainder of the year will go. As a staff, we discussed every catalyst that could be deployed to make sure that we embark on conference play with a locker room that invests deeply in the relationships with one another. To do that, we knew we needed our senior class to have a bigger voice in the room.

Jack Lovelace has grown as much as any player that I can remember not only on the field, but off the field with his commitment to leadership and selflessness. He doesn't care where he is on the depth chart. He shows up every day and demands a toughness and grit from our team from 1-60. I believe he is going to inspire our locker room because he holds himself to that same standard.

Charlie Digennaro has asserted himself as an alpha on our team. I believe Charlie is not afraid of being honest with his teammates and the staff. He knows what it takes, and he has the courage and conviction to share it. His leadership will be paramount in us taking a step forward.

Tucker Denault and Jack Taylor continue to lead this team, and Jack and Charlie will link arm and arm with them to make sure that we squeeze every ounce of potential from this group. I look forward to working with them to assure just that!"

Both player's have shown invaluable leadership and now join an elite list of former Dolphin men's lacrosse players to receive the honor of captain.

Charlie DiGennaro and Jack Lovelace both expressed the appreciation of being named captain and understand the responsibility of that honor.

Charlie DiGennaro:
"I'm incredibly honored that my coaches and teammates have given me the opportunity to be a captain of this team. Jacksonville mens lacrosse has been a huge part of my life and has helped shaped me into the man I am today. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to help lead this group of men into conference play and bring a championship to Jacksonville."

Jack Lovelace:
"Humbled to be named a captain and represent the incredible men in our locker room. The Jacksonville program has shaped me into the man I am today, and for that, I am grateful. Thank you to my teammates and coaches for entrusting me with this responsibility. We have an incredibly talented and hardworking group, and I'm excited to help drive our team's success as we head into conference play."
