JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Jacksonville Beach Volleyball put on an outstanding display during Senior Weekend at Dolphin Beach courts. The Dolphins achieved a perfect 3-0 record over the two days, highlighted by a 5-0 sweep in their final match. The team's strong performances reflected both the depth of their roster and the excitement surrounding the Senior Weekend celebrations.
Day 1: Jacksonville Claims Two Wins with Confidence
The Dolphins kicked off Senior Weekend with a thrilling 3-2 win over Mercer. Emily Kubicsko and Claire Mrukowski set the tone by fighting back after dropping the first set to secure a 21-14, 22-20 win. Despite a loss by Morgan Perry and Katie Martinez, Kristina Nika and Hayden Garnett quickly regained the lead with a solid 21-18, 21-16 victory. Meredith Mrukowski and Kate Taylor added another win, securing a tight 23-21, 21-18 triumph. Miller Reames and Kelly Erhard rounded out the win with a 22-20, 21-16 performance.
Later in the day, Jacksonville defeated Eckerd 3-2. Kubicsko and Mrukowski again led the way with a 22-20, 22-17 win. After Perry and Martinez suffered a loss, Nika and Garnett responded with a dominant 21-11, 21-14 victory. Erhard and Reames then won their match 21-11, 21-18. Amanda Cunningham and Colleen Ziegelmaier faced a tough loss, but Caitlin Cabrales and Alizé Lemieux stepped up, finishing the day strong with a 21-18, 21-19 win to secure the overall victory for the Dolphins.
Day 2: Dolphins Finish Strong with Two More Wins
The second day of competition started with Jacksonville earning a 3-2 victory over Eckerd. Kubicsko and Mrukowski continued their strong play, winning 21-9, 21-15. Perry and Martinez displayed resilience, winning their match 21-19, 21-23, 15-11. Despite losses from Nika and Garnett, and Taylor and Mrukowski, Reames and Erhard kept the momentum going with a 21-11, 21-16 win. Cunningham and Ziegelmaier finished strong with a 21-16, 21-10, 15-13 victory.
In their final match of the weekend, Jacksonville wrapped up Senior Weekend in dominant fashion, sweeping Webber International 5-0. Kubicsko and Mrukowski led the way with a 21-8, 21-16 win, followed by Perry and Martinez's 21-17, 21-18, 15-9 victory. Nika and Garnett had an easy 21-13, 21-3 win, while Reames and Erhard posted a 21-5, 21-15 victory. Cunningham and Ziegelmaier closed out the sweep with a 21-8, 21-6 win, and Gabby Conway and Kyelynn Swink finished the perfect day with a 21-16, 21-17 win.
With an undefeated 3-0 weekend record, Jacksonville Beach Volleyball delivered a memorable Senior Weekend performance, showcasing their talent while celebrating their seniors.
