PHOENIX — The Jacksonville University men's soccer team will open its 2025 season on the road against Grand Canyon University. A late night matchup in the early season looks to set the tone for the program in 2025, as the Dolphins look to build into one of the premier teams in the Atlantic Sun.

Offensively, Jacksonville has many questions to answer on the front end, returning very little of last season's production. The Dolphins added many new pieces to the attacking unit, as those new faces will look to improve on last seasons scoring and replace a number of outgoing seniors and graduates from the program. Defensively and in the midfield is where much of JU's experienced returners can be found. Led by Christian Sekanina at goalkeeper, Juan Pablo Gonzalez, Iver Skorve and Nicolas Aanensen Karlsen accounted for 54 combined games played in 2024.

For the Lopes, the returnees accounted for 51% of last season's starts. The WAC Coaches poll predicted the Lopes to finish sixth in the eight-team conference, a placement that GCU looks to prove wrong in 2025.
