Morgan Named ASUN Golfer Of The Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville junior Andrew Morgan was named the Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday. This is Morgan's first ASUN weekly honor in his career.

The Bolles School product posted a one-under finish at the JT Poston Invitational at the Waynesville Inn and Golf Club, finishing T43 for the tournament. Morgan carded 13 birdies over three rounds. His best performance of the week came in Monday's second round. He posted a three-under 68, the best round by a Dolphin in the tournament. Morgan got as low as five under for the day through 14 holes.

The junior has been one of Jacksonville's top performers dating back to last season. He ended the season with back-to-back Top 30 showings, including at the ASUN Championship where he placed T26. Morgan opened the season with a T30 showing at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. He finished that tournament even par over three rounds.

Through six rounds and 108 holes of golf, Morgan has tallied a team-best 29 birdies.

The Dolphins will next tee it up at the West Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by FGCU. The two-day tournament starts Oct. 5.
