WAYNESVILLE, N.C. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins wrapped up their second competition of the season at the JT Poston Invitational, hosted by Western Carolina. JU placed in 15th on the team leaderboard with an overall score of 10 over par.

The Dolphins' top finisher was junior Andrew Morgan. He finished in red numbers for the tournament, posting a one-under, T42 finish. The Jacksonville native opened the tournament with an adventurous even-par 71, carding five birdies along the way.

His best play came in Monday's second round. Morgan got off to a hot start, getting to five-under par through 14 holes. He posted three birdies on the front nine and went back-to-back on the short par-four 13th and par-three 14th. Even with two bogeys coming in, Morgan finished with a three-under 68.

In the final round, the junior shot a two-over 73 to secure the top finish for JU.

Sophomore Evan Raynor finished T64. He shot a one-under 70 in round two, bookended by matching two-over 73s in the first and third. Raynor carded nine birdies over the course of the week.

Senior Will Harris got better as the tournament went along. After opening with a four-over 75, he bounced back with a two-over 73. He saved his best for last, posting a one-under 70 in the final round. Harris's strong finish was buoyed by an eagle on the 525-yard, par-five 12th. He finished T76 for the tournament.

Freshman Ledger Conley (T81) and junior Brandon Lohr (T85) rounded out the results for JU. Conley shot rounds of 74-72-73 to finish six over for the tournament. Lohr shot rounds of 76-70-74 to finish seven over.

The Dolphins will get time away from competition after back-to-back weeks on the course. They'll next tee it up in ASUN territory when they travel to Ft. Myers, Fla. for the West Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast. The tournament will run Oct. 5-6.
