Brown Earns ASUN Freshman Of The Week Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville freshman guard Tatum Brown added to her incredible rookie resume, winning her third ASUN Freshman of the Week award of the season the league announced Monday.

Brown's latest honor came after arguably the best game of her young college career. Against Florida Gulf Coast, Brown tied her career high with 20 points to lead the Dolphins to a 70-61 win.

She did more than just fill up the scoreboard, adding eight rebounds, four steals and three assists in the win over the Eagles.

With that win, Jacksonville secured its sixth 20-win season in school history and the first since 2017-18. Earlier in the week, she scored four points, grabbed six rebounds with one block and one steal in a blowout win over Queens (NC).

Brown is the second-leading scorer for Jacksonville this season, averaging 10.1 points per game. She scored in double figures in all but three ASUN games this season. In addition, she leads the team in steals and ranks second in both steals and rebounds.

Her previous freshman of the week award also came following a win over FGCU, as she helped the Dolphins sweep the rival Eagles for the first time in program history. She first won Freshman of the Week after scoring 20 including a game-winner in her first college game.

Brown and the Dolphins will close the regular season this week. First, Jacksonville travels to Stetson for a midweek rematch with the Hatters. Tip-off from DeLand is slated for 7 PM on Wednesday.

The Dolphins will play their final game of the season at Swisher Gymnasium Friday when they host rivals North Florida for the River City Rumble. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 PM. Tickets for Friday's rivalry game can be purchased HERE.
