Jacksonville Reaches Record 15 Wins, Closes Regular Season in Boca

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Jacksonville Beach Volleyball closed out the regular season in historic fashion on Saturday, splitting a pair of matches and setting a new program record with 15 wins.

The Dolphins opened the day with a dominant 5-0 sweep over Stephen F. Austin before falling 4-1 to #17 North Florida in the regular season finale. With the win over SFA, Jacksonville surpassed the previous program record of 14 wins set during the 2024 season.

How It Happened

Jacksonville wasted no time making history in the morning matchup, turning in one of its most complete performances of the season in a sweep of Stephen F. Austin.

The Dolphins secured the point quickly across the lineup, with four straight-set victories to clinch the match. Megan Hair and Claire Mrukowski set the tone at the top flight with a commanding 21-8 opening set before finishing off the win in straight sets. Avery Kliethermes and Breanna McDonough followed with a gritty 22-20 second-set victory to secure their point.

Jamie Seward and Meredith Mrukowski continued their strong play with a 21-16, 21-14 win, while Morgan Perry and Kate Taylor added another point with a 21-19, 21-13 decision. Maddie Fiedler and Katie Martinez capped off the sweep with a convincing straight-set victory.

With the win, Jacksonville officially etched its name in the program record book, reaching 15 wins for the first time in school history.

In the afternoon finale against North Florida, the Dolphins were tested in the River City Rumble. Seward and Meredith Mrukowski provided the lone point for JU with a hard-fought 21-18, 21-19 victory at the No. 2 position.

North Florida claimed the remaining flights, but several courts remained competitive throughout, including tight second sets at the No. 4 and No. 6 positions.
