JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Brendan Holland was named ASUN Pitcher of the Week after a dominant, scoreless outing in Saturday's series-clinching 4-1 win over FGCU.
The 6-foot-6 southpaw tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits while striking out seven to secure the victory. The seven innings marked his longest outing of the season and his third game this year with seven strikeouts, including another standout performance last week against Stetson.
Holland becomes Jacksonville's first ASUN Pitcher of the Week selection since Richard Long was honored on May 22, 2023, and the 57th Dolphin all-time to receive the award.
A transfer from UMass Lowell, Holland has settled into a key role in the Dolphins' rotation. After beginning the season as the Sunday starter, he has moved into the Saturday slot over the last two weekends and played a pivotal role in securing the series win over the Eagles.
