Jacksonville Opens ASUN Championship Play Wednesday in Huntsville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University beach volleyball begins postseason play at the 2026 ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship, traveling to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama, Wednesday–Friday.

The Dolphins enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 North Alabama at 12:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday.

With a win, Jacksonville will advance to face the winner of No. 1 Stetson and No. 8 Austin Peay at 9:00 a.m. (ET) on Thursday. With a loss, the Dolphins will move into the elimination bracket and play later that afternoon.

Jacksonville enters the postseason on the verge of history, needing just one more win to set a new program record for victories in a single season.

The Dolphins have also produced one of the most balanced seasons in program history, with six individual seasons ranking among the top marks at JU. Katie Martinez (19 wins) and Morgan Perry (18 wins) lead the way, while multiple Dolphins recorded 16-win seasons across the lineup.

Claire Mrukowski and Megan Hair have handled the No. 1 pairing all season, combining for 32 wins at the top of the lineup. Mrukowski earned First Team All-ASUN honors, while Hair was named Second Team All-ASUN and to the All-Freshman Team after posting 16 wins, tied for the most by a freshman in program history.

At the No. 5 spot, Katie Martinez and Maddie Fiedler have been one of Jacksonville's most reliable pairs. Martinez, a Second Team All-ASUN selection, leads the team with 19 wins, while Fiedler added 16 wins and earned All-Freshman Team honors. The duo also picked up ASUN Pair of the Week honors earlier this season after a 4-0 weekend at North Florida.

Jacksonville's opening-round matchup also presents an opportunity to break through, as the Dolphins look for their first win in program history against North Alabama.
