JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – 13-1 in the month of April, Jacksonville University (25-17, 10-2 ASUN) returns to action Tuesday after a 10-day break for Finals Week. The Dolphins will play at Savannah State (12-31, 3-15 MEAC) Tuesday at 5 p.m. and at #7/8/9/11 University of Florida (30-13, 13-8 SEC) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Dolphins took the season series at Kennesaw State (19-25, 8-7 ASUN) for their fourth consecutive series win, but the Owls ended the winning streak at 13 games by taking the finale Saturday evening.

Scouting the Opponents  

The Tigers have struggled in what could be their final season at the Division 1 level, but played evenly with the Dolphins in their one previous matchup this season, a 9-7 Dolphin decision. Savannah State is hitting .258 on the year, and its pitching staff has a combined ERA of 6.78.

Since losing at John Sessions Stadium on a 3-2 walk-off on February 21, the Gators have gone 27-12 and 13-8 in SEC play. Florida has been ranked as high as #2 and as low as #18, and has impressive wins at #8 LSU, vs. #3 Florida State, a sweep at #23 Missouri, and a series win over #18 South Carolina. The Gators are again in the running to host an NCAA Regional.

Jacksonville returns home Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7 for a weekend series against Stetson University (19-25, 8-4 ASUN), then step out to Tallahassee for a game at Florida State (27-18, 11-12 ACC) on Tuesday, May 9. USC Upstate (18-25, 3-9 ASUN) will come to town May 12-May 14, and the Dolphins will host #25 USF (34-10, 9-6 The American) May 16 in its final home game of the 2017 season. The regular season concludes with a River City Rumble for the ages. JU and North Florida (29-15, 10-2 ASUN) are currently tied atop the ASUN standings.
