Shores Records Eleven Saves Against FGCU

Box Score
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer team (0-9-3, 0-3-1 ASUN) traveled to Fort Meyers on Sunday afternoon to face Florida Gulf Coast University in an ASUN matchup. FGCU defeated Jacksonville 3-0.
The Dolphins and Eagles battled for a full 90 minutes but it was FGCU who came out victorious. Senior Goalkeeper Kristian Shores was a bright spot between the pipes to record eleven saves against an unrelenting 29 shots. Shores is recognized as the Hodges Mazda Player Of The Game
FGCU took the lead early in the first half in the 8th minute and put up two more goals on the afternoon.
The Jacksonville offense stuck with it and with the help of the defense was able to hold off FGCU from raising the deficit. Despite a fine effort JU was unable to record any shots for the afternoon.
The Dolphins will return to home to Jacksonville and shift their focus to their remaining ASUN games. On Thursday night JU will host Lipscomb at Southern Oak Stadium. They will continue their home stand later that week when they host North Alabama on Sunday afternoon in their final home game of the season.
