Jacksonville University Women’s Soccer Hosts FIU for Home Opener

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University women's soccer (1-0) is returning to Southern Oak Stadium after starting the regular season on the road. The Dolphins competed against South Carolina State University (0-1) Friday afternoon, after rescheduling the Thursday night kick-off due to unsafe weather conditions.

JU will arrive at its home turf undefeated, as six different Dolphins scored to secure a 7-0 victory against the Bulldogs. However, the Panthers (1-0) are also looking to remain in the win column after earning a 2-0 victory over Stetson (0-1) in its start to the regular season.

Last time the two met was February 14, during the 2021 spring season. During the match, JU held FIU scoreless during regulation while earning eight shots, which is two times the total average number of shots per game the Dolphins achieved throughout the 2021 season. The game would ultimately end in a 1-0 victory for the Panthers in overtime play.

The contest will mark the eleventh meeting between the two programs, the Dolphins currently hold a 5-5 record against FIU and have competed against the Panthers at Southern Oak Stadium five times prior to the home opener.

Kick-off is set for 11:00 a.m. and fans can stream the game live on Youtube. Free breakfast will be provided for fans by the game sponsor, Dunkin Donuts. Visit judolphins.com for the latest information on all things JU soccer.
