Yount, Manguiat Headline Jacksonville’s ASUN Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville volleyball team received several postseason honors after a historic season that saw the Dolphins earn the No. 2 seed in the ASUN tournament and record 20 wins for the first time since 2013.

Four Dolphins were named to an All-ASUN team and head coach Alicia Manguiat was named the league's Coach of the Year. Jacksonville's four All-ASUN honorees are the second most in program history, only bested by 2017's five.

Manguiat joined Michelle Collier in 2013 as the only two JU coaches to win ASUN Coach of the Year. She led the Dolphins to their best record since that historic 2013 season and guiding Jacksonville to back-to-back 10-plus win seasons in conference play for the second time in program history.

Sophomore Haley Yount was named to the All-ASUN First-Team, the first Jacksonville player to earn such an honor since 2017. She led the league in hitting percentage, notching a .461 mark which is tied for the best percentage in the entire country.

Yount averaged 1.91 kills and 1.1 blocks per set in her breakout sophomore season, where she also won two ASUN Player of the Week and one ASUN Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Seniors Breanna McDonough and Kristina Nika were recognized on the All-ASUN Second-Team.

McDonough has been on an All-Conference team in both of her seasons at JU, also earning second-team honors a year ago. She averaged 2.53 kills per set and recorded double-digit kills in 14 matches.

Nika closed her distinguished JU career with her best season yet. She led the league in digs per set during ASUN play and finished with a career-high 417 digs for the season. She recorded at least 15 digs in 14 matches. This is the first All-ASUN honor of her standout Jacksonville career.

Rounding out the All-ASUN honorees is senior Rebekah Williams, who earned third-team All-ASUN in her maiden ASUN voyage. She led the team with 2.82 kills per set, totalling 288 kills and 252 digs for the season.

In addition to the on-court honors, six Dolphins were named to the ASUN All-Academic team. The full academic honors can be found HERE. The full slate of ASUN postseason awards can be found HERE.

Jacksonville will start its quest for an ASUN Tournament championship Thursday against the North Alabama Lions. First serve is scheduled for 4 PM from FGCU's Alico Arena in Ft. Myers, Florida. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
