JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two Jacksonville University softball student-athletes were voted Atlantic Sun All-Academic award winners, the league announced Wednesday.

Graduate utility player Gabby Baylog and senior outfielder Alison Carter were both named to the 11-person team for their successes on the field and in the classroom.

During her final year of college softball, Baylog earned a 4.00 GPA in applied business analytics. Baylog came to Jacksonville for one season and immediately had an impact all over the field for the Dolphins.

Playing both corners of the infield, Baylog also spent time behind the plate where she posted a 97.6 fielding percentage overall. At the plate, Baylog finished third on the team in batting average with a .291. She started all 50 games for the 'Phins, collecting 41 hits (third on the team) and 20 RBIs (tied for third). Her 27 walks were tops among the squad and seventh in the ASUN.

In the outfield, Carter swung a mean bat and was a force defensively. The senior finished fourth on the team in batting average with a .264 while starting all 50 contests as well. She collected 39 hits and a team-best 31 RBIs which placed her top-25 in the league.

Carter accounted for just one error all season which was good for second in the conference. Her 99.0% fielding percentage was fifth best in the ASUN.

Carter's talents extended to the classroom as well where she achieved a 4.00 in accounting. Last season, Carter was named to the ASUN All-Academic team to go with being an being name an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

Both Baylog and Carter helped rewrite the academic record books for JU softball as a whole, with the team posting a program-best 3.767 academic year GPA and a 3.774 spring semester GPA.
