MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Jacksonville University men's golf team finished tied for 11th place at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, a three-day tournament that concluded Tuesday.
The Dolphins posted a team score of 14-over-par 878 (296-288-294), sharing the 11th spot with Maryland. Florida Atlantic took the team title with a final score of 26-under-par 838.
Leading the way for Jacksonville was Brandon Lohr, who finished tied for eighth individually. Lohr carded a 5-under-par 211 for the tournament (68-71-72). His opening round of 68 was a highlight for the team, tying for the fourth-lowest individual round in the event.
Other key contributors included Daniel Montalvo, who tied for 56th. Montalvo finished with a 6-over-par 222 (73-73-76), showing consistency with back-to-back 73s in his first two rounds. Andrew Morgan and Will Harris both tied for 66th. Morgan posted a 9-over-par 225 (78-68-79) and saw a significant improvement in his second round. Harris, also at 9-over-par 225, (77-76-72) recorded steady scores over the final two days. Andrew Sevene rounded out the team with a final score of 18-over-par 234 (81-79-74).
